As promised here are some additional pictures. This is of a walking trip to the State Department Store (likely so named under Russian rule). The first picutres are of Sukbaatar Square (I think I got the name correctly) which is a complex of government related buildings surrounding a large open plaza.
The statues are all of Chenggis Khan, of course. He is still very much an icon here with the Mongolian people very proud of that part of their history.
The next pics are of us at and in front of the department store. You will first see me in a typical Mongolian hat. The next picture is mom's reaction when she saw me in it! I think it is rather cute! I didn't buy --- yet! But I'm going to!
Lot's of souvenirs we've seen that we want to purchase. But, plenty of time for that.

Love the hat! Are you both planning on getting one? I imagine you would have to wear a hat with those temperatures!
Sorry I missed you tonight. But I am glad that you have been able to do lots of posts and pictures. It has been fun to see the pics and read about your culture shock! I can't even imagine what that would be like.
We love you. The kids keep wanting to do their own posts on the other blog but I have been telling them to wait until you get more settled in and have time to read what is already there. But know that they love you and are thinking about you. Sarah always prays that you will be safe and Matthew always prays that you will have a good mission so between the two of them, you should be covered!
You both look great!! Love the pics, thank you. It was nice to talk to you tonight, but the time went by WAY to fast. I was more sad after talking to you than I was before you called. But I know that there is plenty more of that to come, and I can't wait.
We went to Lindsies play tonight. She did AWESOME!! I took some pics and video and I will post them on the other blog, hopefully tomorrow. Marcia took us all for ice cream afterward, it was very fun. She is taking good care of us.
Well thanks again for more pics, can't wait to see even more. We Love You!!
