One Year Ago Today!

One year ago today, on Oct. 27, 2008, we left our home in Magna, Utah and drove to the MTC in Provo. It is difficult to believe that a full year has already gone by! So much has happened! But we have only been able to include a small part of our experiences here in this blog. We are grateful to friends and family who have supported and prayed for us. It is much appreciated.

Additional note: The senior couples who are left in Ulaanbaatar are struggling to keep up. We are down from seven couples to only three, right now. Others have been called to replace the ones who have returned home but continue to wait for Mongolia to approve their VISA's. The country apparently feels we have exceeded our quota and refuses to issue additional VISA's. There are currently three couples and 13 young missionaries on hold in the U.S., right now. The young missionaries have been reassigned to other missions in the states.

Please remember our little corner of the world in your prayers tonight!

And thanks for all of your love and support!

We too are hoping they will be there soon! From what I hear they are all doing well in their separate states but are eager to get there. They are also trying really hard to practice the language. Elder Weight is excited to meet everyone and work hard.

I was thinking on Sunday that it had almost been a year since you guys left. Know that you are in our prayers and thoughts even though I am slow to write as for Steve well writing anything is not his forte. You were mentioned in Stake Conf. by Pres. Oveson with very kind and tearful loving words. The ward is growing we have had 4 new babies born and 2 more in the next few months. We will also have 2 new grandbabies by the end of January. A few families have moved away Sudburry, Andrus, and Calls. Many changes in callings, like me being called as R.S.(I am like a fish out of Water) but will do my best. We wish you continued health and strength and Gods choicest blessings. I will try harder to at least email you more often.

So I am assuming that the reassingments are not permanent? We will keep them (and of course you) in our prayers...

Seeing that picture of you here in Utah just made me wish you were here in Utah! (Are you sure you're not? I had that dream again). Can't believe it's been a year. It has gone fast, but at the same time it feels sort of like you have been gone forever. With any luck the next year (well, 10 months really) will go by quickly and then you really will be here in Utah.
